Applied Theatre

Rosie has been an Applied Theatre practitioner since 2006, and is able to create, facilitate, as well as offer support and guidance on a variety of applied theatre projects.

She runs projects using drama tools and theatre to create and devise performances arising from relevant community issues and themes.

She uses theatre as a tool to start conversations and is very process-led in her work. Her issue-based youth theatre, Theatre:Connect, has created performances around the themes of Identity, Self Harm, and Communication. Her company, Lights Up Productions, works in schools and creates performances that challenge and connect.

Rosie has taught in numerous schools and designs and conducts workshops with various communities. Themes that have been explored include the impact of sexual assault trauma on survivors; self harm; communication; self-care; and recovery. She has worked with organisations including the Community Rehabilitation Centre; Singapore's only female halfway house, The Turning Point; Esplanade (Singapore); and Outside Edge Theatre Company (London).

Other applied theatre work include drama workshops with people in recovery; working with transgender youth exploring science and gender; and mentoring a project about the stigma behind mental illness.
